Okay, I’m sure. I’ve entered my obscure costume era. I’m hoping that a few of you will know this reference and if not, honestly, it’s such a great book that you should go and read it and then come back and appreciate this year’s family costume for Halloween. You know that I love a great costume. I usually think about it throughout the year, but I didn’t even consider it this year.
Elsa Beskow is a Swedish author and illustrator who created the book Woody, Hazel and Little Pip. Her books on flowers are full of beautiful illustrations. I’ve always wanted to do costumes based on her Flower’s Festival book, but some boys, I won’t name who, were not excited about that. Hmphf. SO, we went with Woody, Hazel, and Little Pip, which was Jasper’s most requested book in the last year.
I’m not even sure I can find pictures of the book to show you the reference. I’m writing this from Australia where we’ve been visiting our family and I forgot to take pictures of the book before I left…this might be tricky. No wait, just took a look around–I found them. It’s the beauty of Internet for everyone.
Celine Anderson took on the project as our intern for this semester and did a fantastic job.
