1. A Palestinian-American child aged six was stabbed to death 26 times just for being Muslim

6-year-old Wadea Al Fayoume was stabbed 26 times on Saturday by his family’s landlord because he was Muslim, according to law enforcement. Hanaan Shahin (32 years old) also sustained more than 12 stab injuries, which prevented her from being able to attend her son’s funeral.

The landlord, Joseph M. Czuba, 71, is charged with first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, two counts of a hate crime and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, the Will County Sheriff’s Office in Illinois said. The Justice Department is investigating these attacks as hate crimes.

The sheriff’s office stated that Wadea, his mother and their father were “targeted” by the suspect because they are both Muslim and there is a Middle Eastern conflict between Hamas and Israel.
