Tommy Dorfman isn’t just using her platform to uplift queer and trans voices — she’s building a new one entirely.

She is best known for her role as the star of Netflix’s hit series 13 Reasons whyThe actor is also a co-founder of CURRAN, a new platform for queer lifestyle. The digital magazine features the perspectives and artwork of members of queer communities in order to “uplift” and promote their voices.

Dorfman told Tracy E. Gilchrist, “All I wish to do is to continue to elevate and promote queer people and transgender people and to redistribute wealth and opportunities to them.” Equal Entertainment. “I have seen first-hand how storytelling can transform perspectives. There aren’t many spaces that do this kind of work or really highlight queer and/or trans artists.

Tommy Dorfman’s Queer Joy Showcased in New Online Platform

Dorfman says that CURRAN’s launch today is particularly important, given the conservative push across the United States to censor LGBTQ+ arts. She believes there’s “a lot of regress right now in queer liberation, the transliberation movement,” due to legislation that bans books.
