1. Texas counties and UNLV shaken by mass shootings

In a mass shooting that occurred Wednesday at the University of Nevada Las Vegas, three people were killed and a further four critically injured. Anthony Polito (67) was the shooter identified by police sources. He died after a fight with police. Polito, a college professor with a long career, was believed by law enforcement to have applied for a position at the university.

This is the second mass shooting that occurred on Wednesday. In Texas, six people also died during a spree of shooting. Shane James was the suspect who began his spree of violence by murdering his parents. He then moved to a county nearby. He is currently being held by police.
