1. Controversy at the Climate Conference

The head of the state-owned Abu Dhabi National Oil Company is leading climate talks around the world, sparking controversy amongst legislators and activists. Sultan al-Jaber is the head of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company. He was appointed as the head for COP28 earlier this year, which is the United Arab Emirates’ annual climate conference where world leaders discuss climate change.

According to lawmakers, the fossil fuel lobby has already had a negative impact on the world’s policy. Al-Jaber will be leading a conference that aims to reduce their influence and harm on legislation as well as the environment.

2. Palestinians are attacked by Israeli colonists in West Bank

Israel’s war against Hamas in Gaza has intensified the settler movement in the occupied West Bank. In recent weeks, more than 1,000 Palestinians fled their villages and small towns after settlers destroyed homes, cut off water and electricity, and blocked roads.
