1. Biden met with Chinese President Xi Jinping — how did it go?
Biden and Xi Jinping met in San Francisco to try to improve the relationship between the two countries. Biden, in a press conference afterward, reiterated his previous comments that Xi was a dictator, saying, “Well look, he’s.”
“I mean, he’s a dictator in the sense that he is a guy who runs a country that is a communist country that is based on a form of government totally different than ours,” Biden said. “Anyway we made progress.”
According to political analysts there were few expectations for a major breakthrough during Biden and Xi’s meeting. However, it was a positive but tepid step for international affairs. Biden, despite his remarks, seems to have helped at least one American issue: panda diplomaty.
