The Misty Copeland Foundation’s mission is to provide dance education for communities with limited resources. Recently, the organization launched Be Bold to make ballet accessible to children.
Be Bold’s first season began in the fall of 2022 in New York City. Sindy Fogar, the director of Be Bold, explains how they hope to teach life skills to people through an ancient art form.

Be Bold’s instruction is developed in partnership with child psychology to ensure that students learn self awareness, empathy, social understanding, decision making skills and other important life skills. Folgar states, “these are all things we need right now.” She adds that, despite the fact that Be Bold is a brand new organization “we have already seen changes in our students.”
