She’s best known for her appearances in acclaimed shows like Shameless, Hacks, and the most recent The L Word: Generation QPaula Andrea Placido also works as an artist and uses her art for women’s issues


Placido’s work often features silhouettes or people whose faces are not obvious. Placido says she was inspired in part by a Muslim creator who posted photos that did not include her face to hide her identity.

Placido tells Sonia Baghdady, “I wanted that theme to remain mystery.” Get involved now. “You don’t know the identity of this person. When you look at a silhouette, it is hard to tell what color they are or how their faces look. This was the idea behind it.

Placido states that art is a way for actors to express themselves.

She says, “Creating art is probably my favorite thing, because that’s me, it’s mine voice, it my vision, it my perspective, and it’s fun.” That’s what I love creatively. It just fuels me. When I’m able to create my art, I feel most accomplished.”
