Kenneth Petty’s husband Nicki Minaj has been placed under house arrest after he failed to register as an sex offender.


Petty, who pleaded guilty on September 18, was sentenced in-home confinement and probation, along with fines. This was as a public officer for the U.S. Department of Attorney’s Los Angeles shared.

“Kenneth Petty was convicted in September 2021 of one count of failing to register as a sexual offender. Yesterday afternoon, a U.S. district judge sentenced Mr. Petty was sentenced yesterday afternoon to three years probation, one-year in home confinement and a fine of $55,000.

Petty was 16 years old when he was accused by a girl of rape. After initially denying his innocence, he pleaded guilty and served four years in prison.

Petty failed to register as an sex offender in New York after he moved from New York to California. This was revealed by a traffic stop in 2019. He evaded registration until March 2020 when he self-surrendered.

Minaj previously defends her husband’s actions from disapproving followers. Many users raised concerns when the couple declared it official on Instagram.
