All five major social media platforms have received failing grades for their LGBTQ+ safety.


In the Social Media Safety Program Report, GLAAD and Human Rights Campaign found that social media companies were avoiding their responsibilities in moderating hateful material against the LGBTQ+ Community for the second consecutive year. GLAAD in partnership with Anti-Defamation League has documented over 350 incidents involving violence and harassment against LGBTQ+ individuals just in the past year. Morrison states that there is a direct link between online harassment and violence threats online, to actual harm.
