1. U.S. declares Israel “not guilty” of hospital explosion but doubts remain

Joe Biden said that during his recent visit to Israel, it didn’t appear that the IDF had been responsible for a deadly explosion in a Gazan hospital that killed over 500 people.

“But there’s a lot of people out there not sure, so we’ve got a lot — we’ve got to overcome a lot of things,” he said.

The hospital explosion has forced the cancellation of a summit between Biden, the leaders Jordan, Egypt and the Palestinian Authority scheduled for Wednesday.

2. European Union cracksdown on war misinformation spread via social media

The European Union has increased its scrutiny over Big Tech companies, demanding that Meta and TikTok provide details of their efforts to combat disinformation and illegal content during the Israel-Hamas conflict.

Meta and TikTok were given one week to provide the information or risk having the commission open an investigation into their conduct. This request was made one week after a demand of the same nature was made by Elon Musk to his X project, formerly called…
