1. The U.S. Coast Guard is known to have covered up cases of racism, hazing and sexual abuse for many years.

US Coast Guard leaders have concealed a critical report that exposed racism, hazing, discrimination, and sexual assault for over a decade, according to the recently obtained 2015 “Culture of Respect” report.

The Coast Guard hid the report for more than eight years even though they were asked to do so. This was before the 2019 “Operation Fouled Anchor,” which revealed how the agency covered up sexual assaults in the summer.

2. Aid workers warn a temporary truce won’t be enough to help Gazans

Israel’s decision to resume bombings after the temporary ceasefire with Hamas ended today has exacerbated the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Aid organizations warn they weren’t allowed to deliver enough resources to meet the basic needs for civilians.

Hamas attacks against Israel on October 7 claimed the lives of 1,200 people. Israel’s brutal response has resulted in the deaths of over 15,000 Palestinians.
